From June 1 to 2, Chang attended the 18th Board of Directors and Annual Meeting of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) in Madrid, Spain. During the meeting, Chang engaged in extensive discussions with international peers on topics such as the green and low-carbon transformation of the global industry, technological innovation, and sustainable development. He gained deep insights into the latest technological advancements, actively shared CNBM's perspectives, and showcased the positive image of Chinese enterprises in driving the sustainable development of the global industry.

During the GCCA Board meeting, Chang carefully reviewed and deliberated on various board proposals, focusing on association governance, financial operations, organizational restructuring, low-carbon standards, and the carbon rating system. Drawing on the realities of global industry development, he suggested that member enterprises systematically advance carbon reduction based on their specific circumstances. He advocated for joint efforts to drive the green, low-carbon, and sustainable development of the industry, contributing CNBM’s wisdom and strength to refining the industry governance system and building consensus.

Meeting with International Strategic Partners

On June 3 in Egypt, Chang held discussions with NCC Chairman Hany Mustafa and other senior executives. They reviewed the cooperative achievements of the construction and the ten-year operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Beni Suef project—the world's largest cement production facility with six 6,000 t/d lines. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on green retrofits for existing lines, upgrades to refuse-derived fuel (RDF) systems, joint ventures for new building materials, and the joint development of photovoltaic and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) low-carbon projects. Following the talks, they witnessed the signing of an EPC contract for the new No. 7 cement grinding system at the NCC cement plant. Prior to this, he separately met with the CEOs of Heidelberg Materials and Holcim. They reached a broad consensus on deepening cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as carbon reduction technology R&D, artificial intelligence, and digitalization, aiming to jointly drive the green, low-carbon, and sustainable development of the global building materials industry.
